Lonnie's Roadhouse Café

Lonnie’s Roadhouse Café is a small-town gathering spot that serves no-frills comfort food. Located on the west side of downtown, just eight minutes from Fair Hills Apartments, River’s Edge Bar & Grill is Williston’s go-to sports bar, complete with burgers, wings, cold beer, and fifteen large screen televisions to track all of the biggest games. The menu highlights include the farm burger topped with bacon, thinly sliced ham, chipotle mayo, and a fried egg, the 14oz ribeye steak, and the grown-up-style grilled cheese made with ham, mozzarella, and a side of tomato bisque. The community recreation center is often one of the key nuclei in a city, a place where residents of all ages can gather for sport, wellness, and community events. The Williston Area Recreation Center is no different, playing a vital role for both the town and region. The center features an impressive list of amenities including an indoor water park, fully equipped gym, 4 basketball courts, 4 indoor tennis courts, lap swimming, group fitness classrooms, a 200-meter racetrack, and so much more. Indeed, the Williston Area Recreation Center was developed on a grand scale with the mission to promote health, wellness, and the spirit of togetherness.

The Frontier Museum provides a rich, educational environment that gives visitors the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a frontiersman. It features period-accurate exhibits including a general store, school, and church. Because of its commitment to historical accuracy, The Frontier Museum is an official partner of the Lewis and Clark Trail Experience, an organization which provides resources for people interested in the historic expedition. Many of the exhibits at the museum are accurate representations of the land and cultures that Lewis & Clark would have interacted with. Located right in the center of Williston, Harmon Park is also known as the heart of the community. It’s where locals go to gather, play games, and enjoy the North Dakota sunshine. The park has a wide range of features including a playground, skate park, pickleball courts, grilling stations, and rentable, shaded picnic shelters. Something that makes Harmon Park unique is the series of handcrafted tree stump carvings spread throughout the area. These intricate wooden sculptures were created by local artisans and bring the park to life with fairy-tale characters such as gnomes, talking trees, and an assortment of forest critters. Residents of Fair Hills Apartments are only a few miles away from the magic of Harmon Park.

Spring Lake Park is Williston’s northernmost park, a sprawling green space with walking trails, rentable picnic areas, grilling stations, multiple playgrounds, a fishing dock, a volleyball court, and a sandy beach. Set within the park is a dynamic, 18-hole disc golf course that weaves through open stretches, tree-lined fairways, and rolling hills. It’s approachable for casual players but still features enough distance between holes to challenge experienced chuckers. Best of all, the course allows disc golfers to wind their way around Spring Lake and a range of stunning scenery.

Situated in downtown Williston on Main Street, the Grand Theatre is your go-to for blockbuster films. The classic vintage sign that hangs off the front of the building is lined with blue light bulbs and beckons moviegoers to pop in and catch a flick. The concession stand sells buttery popcorn, large sodas, and all your favorite candies. The theatre has both matinee and nighttime showings of films that cover a range of genres including drama, comedy, horror, fantasy, animation, and more.
